This picture was taken in Commercial Street, Pontnewydd village in the 1960's. My husband (Jeff McCarthy) and his twin brother (John) of West Pontnewydd and two friends are the children on the right in the picture.

This week’s Now and Then photograph is of Pontnewydd. I’m one of the lads (the little one on the tricycle) in the photograph which was taken over 50 years ago. I don’t think I should have been there, but my mum didn’t ever find out.
Also in Commercial Road was the bank, Mrs Right the newsagent, Gazzi’s coffee shop and a sweet shop.
