LAST week we featured a picture of White’s General Store on Chepstow Road in Newport.
The staff are outside wishing success to the Newport Carnival.
THE Now and Then is of Chepstow Road. Beechwood Park is there, opposite is the Bed Centre.
Also the cake shop, which has a hairdressers above.
Note tooAlso a church, Spar, supermarket and a news agent.
There is also a betting shop and a few other shops.

It mentions it is next to Beechwood Church.
The “now” shows the side of the existing church (Beechwood Presbyterian) on Chepstow Road.
