LAST week we featured a picture of White Rose Laundry on 78 Caerleon Road in Newport.
The cleaners was founded by a builder named Ernest Charles Jordan, and ran by one of his 11 children, Ernest Charles Jordan II.
From 1909 to 1972, the laundry service was operated at Caerleon Road until another cleaners and laundry service took over.
I worked in the White Rose Laundry back in the late 60s to early 70s until Bath Street Laundry took over.
I lived in the house next door, number 81.
I have wonderful memories of working and living on Caerleon Road.
