LAST week we featured a picture of Frogmore Street in Abergavenny between 1902 and 1905.
This picture was located in a book called Abergavenny Pubs by Frank Olding.
In the photo, on the right, The Herefordshire House can be seen with farmers traps parked outside.
On the left, the small low buildings are The Fountain Inn and the Three Salmons.
Haven’t been there for a long time now but looks like Abergavenny.
Maybe Frogmore Street.
Great place for wandering around.
Jim Dyer, Newport Museum Piece comments: This is Westgate Square in Commercial Street with the Victorian Town Hall in the background, this building was torn down in the 1960s to be replaced by a concrete shop.
From the tram, bus and bunting this could be the Coronation of King George VI.
The Westgate Hotel is on the right.
This is sadly now closed and boarded up.
