BEDWAS v ABERAVON
TOMORROW sees a top versus bottom affair that should point to a comprehensive home win for league leaders Bedwas against basement side Aberavon at the Bridge Field.
The hosts though will no doubt be wary of the Wizards whose only win this season, having lost 14 and drawn one, was against them in the corresponding fixture at the Talbot Athletic Ground in late September.
That narrow 25-22 defeat to troubled Aberavon was also the last time Bedwas lost in the league.
Since then they racked up an impressive six wins and one draw out of their last seven Premiership matches.
The Wizards, one of Wales’ great old clubs and so strong in recent years, have fallen off the pace alarmingly this season.
Their worst defeat this campaign came in the British and Irish Cup last month when they were hammered 59-0 at Plymouth Albion. Christmas also brought no cheer for Simon King’s men, overwhelmed 22-7 at home by fiercest rivals Neath on Boxing Day.
