WEST HAM 2 MAN UTD 2
NEWPORT’S James Collins came desperately close to securing a famous FA Cup victory for West Ham over Manchester United today.
The Wales international headed goals either side of the interval to give the Hammers a 2-1 lead, only to see a dramatically late Robin van Persie equaliser save United at Upton Park.
Having yesterday made a move back to West Ham from Liverpool, Joe Cole had looked set to inspire the Hammers to victory in a fairytale win on his second debut.
The midfielder set up both goals for the excellent Collins to cancel out Tom Cleverley's opener.
However, van Persie stepped off the bench to score a wonderful equaliser in injury time to set up a replay at Old Trafford on January 16.
