THOUSANDS of people took part in a major cycling event in Stockton at the weekend.
The Stockton Cycling Festival, a collaboration between British Cycling and Stockton Borough Council, was to encourage people to dust off their bikes and get cycling from.
The festival featured an elite road race, entertainment and displays on traffic-free routes. Dozens of roads were closed around the town centre to enable people to cycle in safety.
Families were also able to try their hands at unicycling and rickshaw rides. Yesterday’s Sky Ride enabled families as well as elite cyclists to all get on their bikes together on traffic-free roads.
