A FAIRFORD baby and toddler group has been given a grant of almost £900 by the Midcounties Co-operative to keep the group going.

Little Lambs Baby and Toddler Group applied for the funding when organisers found themselves at risk of being unable to afford to run the group.

Each family attending is charged £1 and with just 10 families visiting per week, the income did not stretch to meet unavoidable costs. Thanks to The Midcounties Co-operative grant of £895.97, Little Lambs will now be able to buy new toys, advertise its services and pay for the room where the group meets every week.

Secretary Annabelle Plumridge said: "We weren't expecting to receive the grant as it's very competitive and the form we filled out was very thorough."

She went on to say that Little Lambs was determined to stay open for Fairford families.

"When I had my son I was very depressed," she said. "Little Lambs was a lifeline for me. I received support and made friends. It really helped me."

Little Lambs caters to babies and toddlers aged up to four years every Tuesday from 10-11.30am at Fairford Community Centre. For more details email littlelambsfairford@hotmail.co.uk
