Ex-Dragons favourite Paul Emerick retires
EX-NEWPORT Gwent Dragons favourite Paul Emerick has called an end to his playing career at the age of 33 after being sidelined with an ankle injury.
The USA international centre and wing played for the region between 2006 and 2008, making 43 appearances and scoring three tries.
He represented the Eagles in the three World Cups, playing for Parma, Ulster and Wasps after leaving the Dragons.
“No one wants to retire because of injury, but as we get older our bodies start to defy our minds,” Emerick said.
“I’ve been fortunate to make a career out of playing rugby. “Hopefully I’ll be remembered as a guy who always played his guts out for his team.”
