NEWPORT mixed martial arts star Tim Newman is set to face internationally renowned fighter Colin 'Freakshow' Fletcher at BAMMA 13 on Channel 5 on Saturday, September 14.

The event, called Night of Champions, will be live broadcast from Birmingham's National Indoor Arena on 5* and internationally, with highlights on Channel 5.

Newman, known as ‘Super Human’ Newman, comes into the fight with a record of 10-3-0 with wins by both submission and strikes (including knockout) and a record that boasts first round finishes and the ability to go the distance, Newman is a well versed MMA athlete. His last appearance at BAMMA saw him lose on unanimous decision to BAMMA Lonsdale lightweight champion, Curt Warburton.

Fletcher returns to BAMMA following a spell in the UFC. He competed on the TV show 'The Ultimate Fighter: The Smashes' and then at UFC 158, going the distance with Mike Ricci in a decision loss.

Having made an instant impact on fans at BAMMA 8 for his scary clown attire and vicious fighting style, Fletcher last graced the BAMMA cage at BAMMA 9 where he scored a compelling victory against Jason Ball. Ball had come in fresh off a neck-to-neck boxing bout with Chris Eubank Jnr and the fight notably saw submission specialist Fletcher out-strike the striker, picking him off with kicks for three rounds.
