NEWPORT gave themselves a big boost ahead of their home Christmas derby with Gwent rivals Cross Keys next Saturday with a vital win.
The Black and Ambers avenged their 31-20 defeat to Bedwas at Rodney Parade earlier this month by beating them at Bridge Field.
Flanker and captain Craig Attwell crossed for a try while full-back Geraint O’Driscoll kicked four penalties to end up with 12 points as Newport came back well after being 10-6 down at half-time.
