As I said yesterday with the rain forecast from last night, and after looking at the pitch yesterday afternoon there was no way that game could have played today. And as I said yesterday you could end up with a fistful of tickets before the season is over

The County website is hopeless the oxford site called the game aban:oned and the Argus twitter feed some 20 minsbefore County's site. Why cant we have pitch covers? Burton albion do and several others. We are a proffessional league club not a non-league amatuer bunch get with it Mr Boddy before we have an impossible fixture pile up that will cost us promotion like last season!!
Still UP THE COUNTY!!!

well for the second year running county fans have missed out on a Christmas home gamejust one thought ,,could the club ask to play away through Christmas next year, this will at least save us some money and more importantly we can better plan OUR Christmas holiday.

Seems like a good idea, a relatively inexpensive way to make sure games go ahead, and the money would be recouped in no time.I think the game against Northampton on Saturday could be in jeopardy looking at the weather forecast, if so that will be three homes games off in two weeks, not good enough for a Football League Club. Also these matches will now be evening KO,s and you don't get so many supporters at these games, so that equals loss of revenue.

Good old sooty. He always talks a lot of good sense. I vote we put him on the board. More intelligence in his little finger than the board have in the whole of
their body. But then all us old folk are like that. Happy new year all. County for ever.

I travel from Bristol to see the home games. I had a ticket for today's match but it would have been hell on earth travelling and then walking from the car to the game with the monsoon that occurred today. Everybody is blaming everybody else. Just face it, Newport is one of the wettest places in the country nothing can be done about that.
To be honest I was glad it was called off. It is not fun for the spectators nor the players to suffer 90 minutes of those sort of conditions. Well done to the ground staff for trying. We can now look forward to a fully fit squad and winning this league. Time to stop the panic. This can work to our advantage.

Let's not go overboard here, there were three games called off in League One. Pitch covers would be a great start, but even they don't guarantee anything.

The comment about us being the "Gateshead of League Two" is absolute nonsense, we've had two games postponed, stop being over-dramatic.

With the rugby playing in poorer conditions than the soccer. The pitch will get worse and worse for rest of season.
Out of interest I was told the office was open from 9.00m on the 1st but rang until 10.30 with just a voicemail asking me to leave a message. Found out it was off via Argus eventually.
Did everyone clear off same as Wimbledon?
