Exiles goalkeeper Ian McLoughlin's loan extended

MK DONS goalkeeper Ian McLoughlin will remain at Newport County AFC until the end of the season.

McLoughlin has made eight appearances for the Exiles since arriving at Rodney Parade in early March.

The extension offers the 22-year-old the chance to play in County’s final five fixtures, which will see them come up against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday, then AFC Wimbledon, Burton Albion, York City and Rochdale.

Regular Exiles number one Lenny Pidgeley is close to a return to full fitness after recovering from an ankle injury but deputy Jamie Stephens is out for the season with a thigh injury.

Injuries and Newport County and JE seem to be getting rather like the wonderful comment in The importance of Being Ernest. One is unfortunate, two ( or in JE's case many) is careless

In JEs famous summer review of who stays, I suggest skill comes first then tendency to injury. That probably leaves about four of the present squad

Hope he doesn't have to play every game. He's as weak as Dracula on crosses and it could cost us dearly.
