Monmouth's Ben Davies takes wicket of Mike Atherton's son

THE son of former England skipper Mike Atherton has become a victim of talented left-arm spinner Ben Davies.

Ben, from Monmouth, claimed the prized wicket as he bagged 5-39 last week against Middlesex at Radley College.

Ben also snapped up 4-15 from eight overs against Oxfordshire at Kingston Bagpuize Cricket Club during Wales Under-12s successful two-match tour.

Ben, who plays for Monmouth Cricket Club and Gwent, isrepresenting Wales Under-12s this week at a festival in Taunton, Somerset.

The Monmouth Comprehensive School pupil has taken 28 wickets for Wales this season and everyone at Monmouth Cricket Club is thrilled with Ben's continued progress and development.
