NEWPORT County AFC expect to have full use of their temporary stand in time for their next home clash with Cheltenham Town.

Unlike midweek visitors Mansfield, Cheltenham are certain to bring a bumper away following to Rodney Parade for the March 13 League Two fixture.

And the Exiles are currently without use of one of their temporary stands, which failed to obtain its annual safety license during a recent inspection.

However, Howard Greenhaf had told the Argus that the problem, like the stand, is just a temporary one.

“The temporary stand needs a new license every year and this time ours failed because it has, in part, slightly sunk into the ground where fans have jumped up and down,” he said.

“The contractors are coming back mob handed to do the necessary improvement works before the Cheltenham game. It will be a one day job.”

The visit of Cheltenham is followed by an even bigger home clash for County, increasing the need for the stand to be functional again, with Luton Town the visitors on March 17.

And the Newport Gwent Dragons also have a massive contest on the horizon, against Cardiff Blues in the quarter final of the European Rugby Challenge Cup on April 4.
