ANDREW Selby said it was time for his management team to get him a shot at the European title after a routine victory over Nicaragua’s Felix Moncada in Scotland on Friday night.

The 27-year-old St Joseph’s ace claimed a fifth-round stoppage at Edinburgh’s Meadowbank Sports Centre to preserve his unblemished pro record.

His sixth win from as many fights again showed why the Barry sensation is one of the country’s hottest properties in the boxing ring.

Speaking after the bout, British flyweight champion Selby voiced his frustration at a lack of activity since his previous outing in May because “no-one in Britain will fight me”.

Selby’s brother Lee, the IBF world featherweight king, reckons his younger sibling has the potential to challenge for a world title in his next bout.

“I was out for seven months because no-one in Britain will fight me,” said Andrew. “So I think it’s time for Chris Sanigar (manager) to get me a European shot.”

He added: “I’m ranked number one in Britain and I’ve proved I’m the best in Britain.

“It’s disappointing they are not fighting me because I’m not getting paid. I don’t work.

“If I go to European or world level we will get the big bucks in.”
