ST Joseph’s star Lee Selby will return to the ring in a non-title bout at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday, March 4.

The IBF featherweight world champion takes on Andoni Gago after the frustration of his title defence against Jonathan Barros being called off on the eve of the fight in Las Vegas last month.

Selby faces Spain’s Gago on the undercard of David Haye’s clash with Tony Bellew.

The 30-year-old from Barry is out to blow away the cobwebs with the hope of taking on Northern Ireland’s Carl Frampton this summer.

"I know the main event isn't going to last too long so I wanted to make sure there was a nice juicy few fights on the undercard," said Haye.

"After his fight fell through, I really felt for him boiling his massive frame down to nine stone and not getting any work that night."

Mandatory challenger Barros failed a medical in Vegas so the IBF granted Selby permission to box while assessing the state of play with the featherweight belt.

"While the situation with Barros gets clarified the IBF has agreed to allow Selby to fight a non-title bout above the weight limit," the IBF said.

Meanwhile, Ebbw Vale’s Ashley Brace will take on Hungary’s Alexandra Vlajk at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena on Saturday, March 11.
