NEWPORT County AFC goalkeeper Marcus Beauchamp has joined Southern League side Slimbridge on a two-month loan deal.

The 19-year-old stopper signed for County in August but has yet to make a first team appearance with goalkeeping coach James Bittner acting as Joe Day’s understudy.

Beauchamp is a former Norwich City academy scholar. He won the 2014-15 Barclays under-18s Premier League ‘save of the season’ award while with the Canaries.

Slimbridge manager Freddy Ward said: “I'm glad to have Marcus on board, he's been getting some good reviews, and I'm hoping he will come in and give us something we've been missing.”

Beauchamp goes straight into the Swans squad for Saturday’s trip to Evesham United.
