WARREN Gatland says Wales will ring the changes for their Six Nations clash with Italy after seeing their title hopes ended in Ireland.

A loss in Dublin after a round two defeat in England means that a push for the trophy is all but over.

Wales entertain Italy a week on Sunday before finishing against the French in Cardiff with Gatland set to experiment, but eyeing third place.

"I think we'd already spoken about an opportunity to see some new players against Italy, so with two games left there's chances for that,” he said.

"We've got to finish in the top three, that's important for us as well.

"We'll get some players into the squad without making too many changes, and look at building depth."

Dragons hooker Elliot Dee is likely to be in contention for a first Test start against the Azzurri.
