YOUNG showjumper Brodie Morgan and pony Gwen are looking back on a period of remarkable success.

Brodie, aged 14, from Newport, a pupil at St Joseph's High School, and Gwen have been a partnership for the past four years.

After successfully showjumping at unaffiliated competitions they joined the British Showjumping Association in October last year.

During the past seven months they have achieved more than they could ever have wished for. Throughout the winter months they jumped at venues around England and Wales in Novice and Discovery classes. They were then successful in gaining qualification to enter second round competitions.

With only 11 second round chances to qualify around the country, Brodie and Gwen managed to finish in the top ten in both classes (with a win in one class).

They will now progress to jump in the British Novice and Discovery finals at the British Showjumping National Championships at Stoneleigh Park (Warwickshire) in August.

They have also recently received a medal for winning the Junior Bronze League for Wales over the winter period.

They won their Grand Prix qualifier class at Pony of the Year Show held at Onley in Warwickshire in April this year and other achievements to date include qualifying for Blue Chip Championships and Scope.

Brodie is now looking for a sponsor to represent at venues around the country and to continue her exciting journey with Gwen.
