DEAN Holdsworth appears to have clinched his first signing as Newport County boss, bringing in Dave Collins from his old club Redbridge FC.

A left-sided midfielder, Collins is 25 and played 48 games last season, scoring nine goals.

The Redbridge FC website is reporting that Collins and Steve Butterworth, also an Exiles target, have left the club.

It states: "Dave has followed Dean Holdsworth to Newport Countyand Steve has signed for Dartford."
