We've teamed up with Newport City Council to give you the chance to place your vote.

Christian Malcolm - Athletics

• Christian overcame injury to return to his best form in 2008. His main achievements in 2008 were:
• Being selected in team GB for Beijing 2008 Olympics
• Finishing in 5th place in the Olympic 200m final Beijing 2008
• World Ranking 18

Ryan Jones - Rugby

• Ryan Jones had a great year in 2008. His main achievements in 2008 were:
• Appointed Captain of the Welsh Rugby team
• Captained Wales to a Grand Slam
• Captained the Ospreys to an EDF Cup final win
• Short listed for IRB World Player of the Year.

Liz Johnson - Swimming

• Liz had another successful year in 2008. Her main achievements in 2008 were:
• Qualified for Paralympic Games Beijing 2008
• Gold Medal Paralympic Champion SB6 100m Breaststroke
• 8th S6 50m Freestyle Paralympic Games Beijing 2008
