THE snow may have gone but on Saturday six fixtures were lost because of frozen pitches, therefore the league season has officially been extended until May 16.
First Division leaders Treowen Stars did play, they entertained Govilon AFC at Bush Park and maintained their one hundred per cent record with a 3-2 victory, the goalscorers were Gary Evans, David Hurley, and substitute Johnathan Dunn, Jamie Laurent and Rhys Whiteman scoring for Govilon.
At the Larkfield Ground Chepstow Town defeated visitors Lliswerry FC by the same margin, their goalscorers being Daniel Saunders, Mark Dunn, and Mathew Owen with Dean Merrett and Kirk Freeman on target for Lliswerry.
At the Woodland Field Abertillery Bluebirds took maximum points with a 3-1 victory over Mardy AFC, Chris Penny with a brace and Shano Williams, the scorers, Aaron Davies replying for Mardy.
In Division Two AC Pontymister moved into second place after their 3-2 away win over Sudbrook Cricket Club with goals from Dan Woods, Scott Jefferies and Chris Woods. Richard Lund and a Robert Thorn penalty replying from the cricket club.
Leaders PILCS entertained Llanhilleth Athletic and were held to a 1-1 draw, Richard Jeremiah scoring for PILCS and Andrew Torrence with a penalty for LLanhilleth.
RTB Ebbw Vale moved up three places after their 5-1 away victory over Malpas Gladiators Adam Williams (2) and one apiece from Josh Jones, Gareth Andrews and Sean Pope the goalscorers.
At Trinant, the home side shared eight goals with Newport Corinthians. Craig Price (2) Richard Lyons and Thomas Burkatt on target with Richard Doody, James Francis, David Phillips and substitute Lewis Hanson scoring for the Corries.
In the Third Division Pill AFC were the top scorers of the day hitting eight against visitors Abergavenny Thursdays.
Louis Owen had a field day, scoring five, Ashley Ball, and substitutes Mathew Brain and Jude Clarke completing the rout. Mathew Heritage scored Thursdays consolation goal.
Llanwern RTB hit six without reply through Andrew Foster and substitute Adam Chambers (two apiece) James Hood and Colin Thomas, against Villa Dino Christchurch.
At The Castle Ground Whiteheads AFC took maximum points with a 6-3 victory over Caldicot Castle, the goalscorers being Neil Durnell, a brace from Mark Doyle, Rhys Thomas, Craig Jones and substitute Mike Garrett, with Gareth Yeoman-Evans, James Reid and Richard Beach replying for the Castle.
At the bottom New Inn AFC took the honours when visiting Crickhowell, Russell Boyle, Dan Wescott and Jon Thomas scoring in a 3-1 victory.
