Rodney Parade groundshare – talks to go on over weekend

TALKS over Newport County’s proposal to share Rodney Parade with Newport RFC and the Dragons will continue over the weekend.

Exiles chairman Chris Blight had stated that tomorrow would be the deadline for a decision, but this has now been extended to "early next week." Although talks are advanced and most of the challenges associated with the deal have been addressed, there are still some outstanding issues and it was felt by all parties that the additional time was necessary.

"These have been long and complex talks," said Rodney Parade Ltd chief executive Chris Brown.

"All parties are keen to make this happen and have shown a great deal of co-operation but it is crucial to ensure that the interests of all parties are protected and that this proposal enriches all of those involved."

The County master of business strategy strikes again. Set arbitary deadlines and then have to extend them. An excellent tactic when you are in a weak position

So am I but the Chairman's track record on stratewic business decisions for the Club (take the farce of replacing Reg Holdsworth for an example) is terrible. If you are the party under pressure (to get away from terrible Spytty) you dont begin by time threatening the other side. Further why does he pass info to the Argus ?
