LEGENDARY four-weight world champion Roy Jones is targeting a farewell fight with Nathan Cleverly, according to reports.

Jones, who shot to prominence at the 1988 Olympics, has only faced two British boxers in his distinguished career.

He last faced a British foe in 2008 when Joe Calzaghe dismantled him in what proved to be Calzaghe’s last contest.

However, 43-year old Jones is keen on a Cleverly clash next year.

When asked about only facing two British boxers he said: “I appreciate it and you know what? I’m still hoping to come to England and perform one time before I retire.

“If anybody out there wants to come up to the cruiserweight division and thinks they want some or even if Nathan Cleverly wants me to come to 175lbs and take his belt, I might try that.

“That’s not a bad fight at all. Tell Nathan’s guy to call me and we might make that happen.”
