IF the Bedwas players thought that they were going to get a pat on the back for earning a bonus point against champions Pontypridd then they would have been in for a shock on Tuesday, writes Chris Kirwan.
Steve Law and his coaching team gave the squad a “roasting” in training after their performance at Sardis Road.
And they are demanding that their charges respond with a far better display when Swansea head to Bridge Field tomorrow afternoon.
“The bonus point was about the only positive from that performance,” said Law.
“Our basic skills were appalling – we gifted them ball and missed far too many tackles.
“We are not happy with that display and the players have certainly been made aware of that.
“There needs to be a reaction against Swansea because although there are no easy games in the Premiership, home games are vital.
“We will make a number of changes because a number of players were given opportunities at Pontypridd but didn’t take them and won’t be in the side.”
Bedwas will be looking to repeat last season’s 15-13 success against the Whites, which was secured by a last-gasp penalty by fly-half Richard Powell in horrendous conditions.
“It was the best kick I have ever seen," said Law. “It was near the touchline on the 10-metre line in a monsoon on a heavy pitch but he put it over.”
