ABERGAVENNY cyclist Becky James became the British champion in the women’s 500-metre time-trial in Manchester this evening.
The 20-year-old was last on track and powered round in a time of 34.763 to take the spoils from previous leader Victoria Williamson, beating her time by almost a second.
Becky’s sister Rachel also produced a fine performance at the National Velodrome, going round in 36.325 for fifth spot.
