NEWPORT County AFC returned to the top of the Blue Square Bet Premier table with a hard-won three points at Tamworth.
Ismail Yakubu headed County ahead in first half stoppage time before Adam Cunnington rose above the Exiles defence on the hour to head past Lenny Pidgeley.
But Aaron O'Connor went straight down the other end to tap in his 10th goal of the season and win a thoroughly entertaining match.
With Forest Green Rovers beaten at Wrexham, Justin Edinburgh's men reclaimed top spot but the Exiles boss will be sweating on the fitness of O'Connor ahead of Tuesday's visit of Ebbsfleet after his top scorer was stretchered off near the end.
