THE Sanigar Events Newport Centre boxing show, scheduled for next week, has been postponed and will now take place in March.

The British cruiserweight title eliminator between Craig Kennedy and Tony Conquest was due to take place on Saturday, February 6.

It has now been moved to Friday, March 11, at the same venue due to a sudden bereavement in the Conquest family.

The remainder of the fight card will stay the same for the new date with Ferndale's Barrie Jones defending his Welsh light-middleweight title against the experienced Bradley Pryce of Newbridge.

Full details of the undercard will be released in the next few days.

Promoter Chris Sanigar said: “It was obviously a shame to postpone the show but a bereavement is very hard for any family and we had to respect Tony Conquest's wishes, our thoughts are with him.

“We are very fortunate to be able to move the whole card with very little disruption to the new date of March 11.

“All tickets will still be accepted,” he added. “If you cannot make the new date please seek a refund from your ticket seller.”

Tickets cost £30 for unreserved seating, £50 or £60 VIP ringside seats are also available from all boxers or from the box office on 0117 9496699.
