LEE Selby says it’s “now or never” for a showdown between him and Josh Warrington.

Unbeaten WBC International belt holder Warrington has made no secret of his desire to go toe-to-toe with the IBF world champion.

Warrington, a proud Yorkshireman, is also keen for the contest to take place at Elland Road, the home of his beloved Leeds United.

But with Selby eyeing the likes of Carl Frampton and Leo Santa Cruz, who meet in New York on July 30, he insists a clash with Warrington would have to happen sooner rather than later.

“If I was to fight another British fighter, someone like Josh Warrington, it would have to be in my next fight,” said featherweight king Selby.

“I can’t go from fighting the likes of Carl Frampton or Leo Santa Cruz, or any of the other top professionals, and then drop down to fight Josh Warrington, it doesn’t make sense.

“Especially if I won a massive fight, to drop down a level would be pointless.”

When asked who he would like to face out of Frampton or Santa Cruz, St Joseph's ace Selby added: “I’d prefer the winner, but even the loser would be a massive fight.

“Hopefully I can get a big fight this summer and if I win and Carl Frampton wins that would be a massive showdown for the British fans.”
