LEICESTER City fan Louis Norman is convinced that he can follow in the footsteps of the Foxes and upset the odds to land a major sporting prize.

Norman is a big outsider with the bookies for his British flyweight title clash against St Joseph’s Andrew Selby in Cardiff on Saturday night.

But the Englishman reckons those who set the odds are wide of the mark and firmly believes he is good enough to claim the vacant crown.

“I don’t think I’m a big underdog,” he said. “No-one has really seen me fight.

“Everyone knows how good Andrew Selby is but only the people around me know how good I actually am.

“Even though Andrew is the big favourite, anything is possible and I honestly believe I will get the decision.

“Andrew is a fantastic fighter and I’ve always said that, and if I give 100 per cent and get beaten by a better man then so be it, but I honestly do believe I can win it.

“It’s just about how I perform on the night, and I believe I will.”

Norman, 22, has lost just once in 13 outings, that coming when he fought Charlie Edwards for the English flyweight strap last September.

And he is immensely confident ahead of Saturday night, adding: “No matter what anyone says, apart from the world title, the British title is the most prestigious.

“This week hasn’t felt like a fight week, I’m that relaxed. I don’t think it’s the fact I haven’t got any pressure on me, because I haven’t, it’s that I know how good I can be.

“It’s an honour to share the ring with Andrew because he’s a fantastic fighter.

“When I beat him I’m sure it won’t be the end of Andrew.

“I’m 22 and if I win the title it sets me up for some massive fights.”
