CWMBRAN'S Jamie Arthur enjoyed the biggest win of his professional career this evening in a thrilling encounter with rising star Akaash Bhatia at London's York Hall.
Arthur can now look forward to a British title shot at featherweight having won this eliminator where he was the underdog with the bookies.
Unbeaten Bhatia was a tough opponent for Arthur. The 26-year-old is the first ever professional British Sikh boxer and the current British Southern area featherweight champion.
However, Arthur, who had been banned by trainer Eddie Avoth from seeing his wife and two children for three weeks, called on extra reserves to win a tough contest on points.
Arthur enjoyed the better finish with a decisive last round and took the decision 96-95.
