CEFN Fforest fighter Nathan Cleverly wants a rematch with domestic rival Tony Bellew, but the intriguing world title showdown looks unlikely.

Undefeated Cleverly enjoyed a points victory over Bellew in Liverpool in October 2011, but the pair would be certain to attract a large audience in a rematch.

Cleverly took to social networking site Twitter this week to make clear that he’s in the mood for a rematch with Bellew, writing: “Spoke to my promoter this morning… have asked him to make the Bellew fight… lets do this!”

However, Bellew is currently claiming to be a ‘free agent’, though Frank Warren, who promotes Cleverly, is stating Bellew is still contracted to him.

Furthermore, Bellew believes Cleverly doesn’t truly want the fight.

“I begged for the fight from the minute the first fight ended as the decision didn’t go my way,” Bellew told World Boxing News.

“You know we would have had a rematch by now had I got the decision that night, which I easily could have. I asked and asked and was repeatedly told ‘he doesn’t want it’ and now I have become a free agent and low and behold, the very next day I am seeing messages saying ‘let’s do this.’ “Why didn’t we hear those calls in December, January and February? I guess it’s all about timing eh? He waits until I am a free agent, then starts saying we can do it now… pathetic!”
