NATHAN Cleverly’s return to light-heavyweight has been put back from April 11 to April 25, writes Andrew Penman.

The Cefn Fforest star, who lost his cruiserweight rematch with Tony Bellew in November, was due to return to the ring at the First Direct Arena in Leeds on April 11.

But West Yorkshire Police, who were worried about crowd trouble, have advised Matchroom Sport against Cleverly’s appearance in the city as Cardiff City FC play Leeds United on the same day.

Cleverly will instead be added to the show at London’s O2 Arena on April 25, which is likely to be the date that St Joseph's star Lee Selby challenges IBF featherweight world champion Evgeny Gradovich.

Meanwhile, Blackwood super-featherweight Craig Evans kept his unbeaten record intact with a points victory against Poland’s Jacek Wylezo over eight rounds at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall.

The St Joseph’s fighter missed out on a title clash with British and Commonwealth champion Liam Walsh after the Cromer man withdrew.
