BRADLEY Pryce’s challenge for the Welsh super-welterweight title must wait after champion Barrie Jones had to pull out of their clash this Friday.

Pryce and Jones were set to meet on the Sanigar Events show at the Newport Centre but the latter has withdrawn because of a chest infection.

The hope is that the contest will be rescheduled as soon as possible.

Former Commonwealth king Pryce is still going to appear on the bill with a six-round bout against Nottingham-based Simone Lucas.

Journeyman Lucas, 37, has only won eight of his 40 pro fights.

Also at the Newport Centre, Tony Borg-trained Andrew Selby goes for a fourth straight win against Englishman Brett Fidoe.

And like Pryce, Cardiff’s Craig Kennedy has also had a late change of opponent as he looks to maintain his unbeaten pro record.

With Tony Conquest sustaining an injury in training, Kennedy will now face Poland’s Lukasz Rusiewicz over 10 rounds.
