GLAMORGAN blew their chance to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Friends Life t20 after suffering a nine-wicket thrashing at the hands of already-eliminated Gloucestershire.
Matthew Mott's side headed into the game at the Swalec Stadium knowing that victory would secure a first knockout clash since 2008.
But they were up against it when they made only 141 for five from their 20 overs despite opener Jim Allenby carrying his bat for 85 from 58 balls.
In reply, Gloucestershire cruised home with more than three overs to spare with Michael Klinger finishing unbeaten on 86 from 60 balls.
It was a second crushing defeat to the Gladiators after they romped to a 10-wicket success in the earlier group meeting at Cheltenham.
Glamorgan's defeat saw them finish third in the Midlands, Wales and West table with too few points to make it through. It also confirmed Durham as a qualifier from the North group.
Somerset finished second behind Northants after beating Warwickshire at Edgbaston.
