PACE bowler Michael Hogan has signed a fresh contract to stay with Glamorgan until the end of the 2018 season.

The 34-year-old arrived in Cardiff from Western Australia in 2012 and has penned a fresh three-year deal at the SSE Swalec Stadium along with young off spinner Kieran Bull.

Hogan took over 100 wickets in all formats in his first season and has been one of the most consistent performers in Division Two of the County Championship with 178 first-class victims at an average of 21.94.

He said: "I'm really pleased to commit my future to Glamorgan, my family and I are enjoying living in Wales and I have been able to put some performances on the board over the last three years.

"We are determined to build on some encouraging performances in all forms of the game in recent years and hopefully we can kick on again in 2016 and bring some success to the club."

Carmarthenshire-raised Bull made his first-class debut against Kent at Canterbury in 2014 and took 4/62 – the best-ever figures by a Glamorgan slow bowler in their first bowl in the Championship since 1921.

Chief executive Hugh Morris said: "Michael's contribution with the ball this season has been outstanding and his bowling figures clearly show he is one of the stand-out seam bowlers in the county cricket.

"We want to bring through talented young welsh cricketers like Kieran into the Glamorgan team and equally important is retaining the best players such as Michael that we already have in the side. This is good news on both fronts."
