IN Section A Sudbrook beat Newport Asians with just three balls to spare.

They won by five wickets after a magnificent 77 from Matt Spencer helped them chase down 153.

Asif top scored for Newport Asians with 66 and Paul Harris made 46. Dave Stevens picked up two wickets for Sudbrook.

Section B high flyers K2 beat Maindee A by five wickets. None of the Maindee batsman could make a serious score after many got starts, and they closed on 123 with Daud Akhtar taking 2 for 19 and Ahte Shami 4 for 8. Shami was to the fore with the bat also as he top scored with 40. Usman Niaz took 2 for 21 for Maindee.

St Julians Inn beat Kings XI by nine wickets. Sohail made 53 in Kings' 147 score while Pete Mason picked up three wickets for the Inn.

The reply was dominated by Andy Ross with 86 as St Julians won in the last over.

Rogerstone beat Caerleon Saints by 39 runs after Gary Williams (57 no) and Richard Webb (43) got them to an impressive 203-3. The Saints reply was led superbly by Scott Jeffries with 94 not out, but 2 for 23 from Mark Harnden proved decisive.

Section C co-leaders IR Newport and Monkswood went head to head and Monkswood won by 47 runs.

Richard Brock led the way with 87 as Monkswood made 157-2. Mike Pye's 38 got IR off to a decent start but accurate bowling led to regular wickets as Monkswood won comfortably in the end. Gareth Watkins took 3 for 14.

Undy & Magor recovered well after last week’s setback by beating R&B Social by eight wickets.

Sol Wadley with 36 was the sole run getter for R&B as they limped to 73-6. Alex Harris then made 44 for Undy in a quick fire start which quickly took the game away from R&B. Earlier, there was some impressive bowling from Undy's Elliot McKenzie (2 for 10) and Ceri Wynne (2 for 3).

Solutia beat Prince of Wales, Risca, by five wickets. The POW made 128 but contributions from Craig Barton and Chris Round saw Solutia home with two overs in hand.

Maindee B & Millenium B played out an exciting tie off the last ball in their match at Spytty Park.

Batting first, Millennium B (145-7) got off to a good start with Asif (43) and Boota (24) the leading run scorers. Maindee hit back with the ball with Nazrul Islam (3 for 23) and Haroon Ashraf (2 for 31). In reply Aminur Rahman (32) set the pace with with excellent all-round performances from Nazrul Islam (32) and Haroon Ashraf (20).

A burst of wickets from Asif (3 for 17) left Maindee B (145-5) requiring a single off the last ball to win the game, but a run out ensured a tie in a match neither side deserved to lose.
