GLAMORGAN host Somerset at the SSE Swalec Stadium this evening knowing that victory in front of a bumper crowd will also certainly secure them a quarter-final in the NatWest T20 Blast.

The Welsh county have made the knockout stages just twice in the tournament, making it to finals day in 2004 and when gifted a spot in 2008 courtesy of Yorkshire fielding the ineligible Azeem Rafiq, losing at Durham in the last eight.

They host their rivals from the West Country (7pm start) on the back of disappointing defeats to Hampshire and South Group leaders Gloucestershire but still have their destiny in their own hands.

With away games to finish at Sussex and Essex, Glamorgan would love to head into the last week chasing a home tie with a place in the quarters secured.

"We've been on the wrong end of the result in the last couple of games so I think a win would help regain some momentum again," said South African batsman Colin Ingram, who has smashed 321 runs in 10 T20 games so far this summer.

"We've still got some guys in good form, so if we can get a win that secures our (quarter-final) spot, we can go forward from there.

"It's all about re-adapting. We won seven on the bounce before these two defeats, so hopefully we can get back to that form on Friday night.

"Somerset are a dangerous side and it's a derby game, so it won't be an easy game that's for sure."

Glamorgan head into the game with a spring in their step courtesy of their county championship victory against Derbyshire at Colwyn Bay with Aneurin Donald looking to repeat some of the stunning hitting from his 234 from 135 balls.

Coach Matthew Maynard and all-rounder Jim Allenby return to Glamorgan with Somerset, who also boast Sri Lanka legend Mahela Jayawardena in their side as well as big-hitting Peter Trego.

"We know it has been a disappointing campaign for us, there is no doubt about that, but we need to try to finish strongly to take some confidence into the Royal London One-Day Cup especially as we are playing Glamorgan in that competition again on Sunday," said Maynard.

"Of course we want to win and we need to put Glamorgan under pressure in Cardiff . However we know that they are really strong and playing some good T20 cricket, with an experienced bowling line up and several of their batsmen on fire as well."
