SIR – Ed Miliband’s proposed changes to Labour’s relationship with the unions clearly shows he is trying to distance Labour from the left, though this is nothing new.
The shift to the right had been going on throughout the Blair-Brown governments, in my view, thus culminating in Labour’s downfall.
I would urge Mr Miliband to keep Labour on the left and maintain the strong bond with the unions. Any further lurches to the right will bury the Labour party. Don’t let the right rule the roost. The reason I left the Labour party many years ago. I won’t be the only one so be warned, Ed, the dangers of further lurches to the right.
