NEWPORT Gwent Dragons will tune up for the Guinness PRO12 by going up against Northampton at Franklin’s Gardens in pre-season.
Kingsley Jones will take his side to face the Saints on Saturday, August 12, the week before they head to Exeter to tackle the English champions.
The Dragons played Northampton in pre-season in 2014 when they beat a star-studded side featuring Dylan Hartley, George North, Courtney Lawes and Samu Manoa in Ebbw Vale.
The teams last locked horns in a competitive fixture when the Saints won an Anglo-Welsh Cup clash at a rain-lashed Rodney Parade in January 2014 while the last game on English soil was in the same tournament in November, 2010 when the Dragons were overpowered up front in a 28-3 defeat.
