GAVIN Henson will make his Dragons debut at fly-half in Saturday's Guinness PRO14 opener against Leinster at Rodney Parade.

The 35-year-old former Wales and Lions playmaker played in the first pre-season friendly against Montpellier following his arrival from Bristol on a two-year deal.

However, he missed the friendlies against Exeter and Glasgow after suffering a dead leg in a training session with Bath.

Henson has been given the green light to return and the Argus understands that he will definitely start the clash against Irish big guns Leinster in Newport (kick-off 3.15pm) with 10 on his back.

New boss Bernard Jackman will confirm his line-up at midday tomorrow and must mull over whether to start with captain and lock Cory Hill, who has not featured in pre-season after his summer Test exploits.

Tickets for the season opener are available from the Dragons on 01633 674990 or dragonsrugby.wales
