DRAGONS centre Tyler Morgan has been released from the Wales squad because of an ankle injury with Scott Williams taking his place for the autumn.
The 22-year-old from Caerleon was forced from the field by a bad sprain in the opening stages of the Rodney Parade region’s derby defeat at the Ospreys on Friday.
Morgan, who won his fourth cap against Samoa in the summer, has had a scan and a surgeon will determine the extent of the damage.
He has been ruled out of the autumn Tests with the Welsh Rugby Union-owned Dragons now in charge of his recovery.
Williams, a shock exclusion from the initial squad, takes his place for the Tests against Australia, Georgia, New Zealand and South Africa.
The 27-year-old Scarlets centre established himself in the 12 jersey last season, although Warren Gatland is considering fly-half Owen Williams as a playmaker in midfield.
