EIGHT Dragons prospects have been named in the Wales squad for the Under-20s Six Nations.

Loosehead Josh Reynolds, hooker Will Griffiths and flankers Taine Basham, Lennon Greggains and Max Williams have been named as options up front while Dan Babos is one of the scrum-half hopefuls and speedsters Joe Goodchild and Rio Dyer will aim for spots in the back three.

Reynolds, Basham, Greggains, Williams, Babos and Goodchild have all made their senior debuts for the Rodney Parade region this season.

"What's good about this squad is that there are quite a lot of competitive areas," said head coach Jason Strange.

"We've got fierce competition in the half-backs, while the back row is also a position of strength.

"A number of these players will go back to play for their regions during the Six Nations, which is always the case.

"That's something which will allow other players a chance, and it's one of the reasons why we've named a large squad."

Athletic back row forward Williams, 19, was featuring prominently for the Dragons at the start of the season until suffering a shoulder injury while 17-year-old Babos has made eight appearances since his try-scoring debut against the Scarlets in November.

Reynolds and Goodchild were given a small taste of senior rugby in the Anglo-Welsh Cup while Greggains made his Guinness PRO14 bow at Ulster and Basham made his debut at the Scarlets in January.
