THERE was no change at the top of the First Division with all the top three clubs recording victories, although leaders Lliswerry FC were rather fortunate to take all three points at Spytty Park against Pill AFC.

Chris Pearce scored the only goal of the game in the first half but the last twenty minutes saw Pill doing most of the attacking but they could not penetrate a well organised Lliswerry defence for the goal that would have earned them a well deserved point.

At the Bowling Green AC Pontymister took all three points in a 3-1 victory over Fairfield United with Scott Jefferies (a brace) and Joe Taylor, on the scoresheet.

Craig Norman, Gareth Roberts and Dean Morgan scored the goals to give Govilon AFC a 3-1 home victory against P.I.L.C.S. FC.

In the only other First Division game played Abercarn United returned from Cwmbran Stadium with a 4-3 victory over Cwmbran Town, with goals from Kurt Thornbury, Mathew Thomas, Alex Whatley and Alex Lloyd.

In Division Two leaders Newport Corinthians defeated Mardy AFC 6-2 at Coronation Park with goals from David Jones and Luke Casagrande (two apiece), Daniel Pugsley and an own goal.

In the local North Gwent derby Tredegar Athletic returned from Eugene Cross Park with a 3-2 victory over RTB Ebbw Vale as Jon Brian (two) and Mark Shuck struck.

Spencer Youth & BC are climbing the table after they defeated local rivals Cromwell FC 4-2 at Duffryn School with goals from Gary Williams, Geirant Williams, Nicky Sutcliffe and Steven Perzweski.

Cwmffrwdoer Sports had a good 4-2 win when visiting Cefn Fforest AFC with Mathew Jackson scoring a hat-trick and Robbie Peake also getting a goal.

Lucas Cwmbran had a welcomed victory when entertaining bottom club Rogerstone AFC thanks to goals from Dan Parfitt, Luke Dyke, Mathew Jones plus an own goal earning the points.

At Llanfabon Drive Trethomas Bluebirds and Malpas United shared six goals with Andrew Gomer (a brace) and Jeff Griffiths, scoring for the Bluebirds and Josh Green, Chris Jones, and Callum Fairfax, for Malpas.

Also sharing the points were Rockfield Rovers, and Blackrock Rovers, Scott Skipp scoring for Rockfield and Chris Wilson for Blackrock.

Third Division Ponthir AFC were top goalscorers of the day hitting ten when entertaining Trinant AFC, Adam Jones and Mark Davies both bagging hat-tricks and Yousif Al-Doori, Jon Palmer and Rhys Morrison all on the scoresheet along with an OG.

Leaders New Inn AFC returned from Albion Road with a 6-1 victory over Pontypool Town through Luke Sallis, Daniel Morrison and Mike Davies who all scored twice.

At Bassaleg, Ynysddu Crusaders defeated Whiteheads AFC 5-1 with goals from Dane Bennett (a hat-trick), Jack James, and Connor Bennett.

At Coleg Gwent Caldicot Castle defeated Race AFC 2-0 courtesy of David Williams, plus an own goal.

Gavin Glover, and Nathan Jones scored the goals to give Marshfield AFC a 2-1 home victory over Rhymney AFC.

Thornwell Red & White defeated Sebastopol AFC 2-0 thanks to Anthony Reynolds and Julian Saunders.
