CUP weekend in the District League brought several shocks in the Dennis Herbert Senior Bowl, sponsored by the Greyhound Inn. FC Boilermakers won 3-2 away to Albion Rovers after extra time, Liam Smith (2) and Joshua Muir got the goals.

Three goals from Jacob Harris (2) and Nick Hender-son gave Newport Eagles a 3-2 win at home to Malpas United. AC Pontymister won 4-0 against Villa Dino Christ-church, their goals came from Jamie Lewis (2), Dave Cleere and Joe Taylor.

Pill AFC won 3-1 away to Cwmbran Town, with Robert Miller, Ellis Abdie and Connor Crowley scoring.

Bettws Socialdad scraped a 1-0 win away to Machen.

After a Machen player was sent off, Machen were the better team in the second half and were unlucky not to take the tie to extra time.

The Cwmbran derby bet-ween Athletico Cwmbran and Lucas Cwmbran finished with a 4-3 victory for Lucas.

The Lucas goals came from Alex Barnes, Derek Williams and Michael Edwards, plus an own goal.

Cromwell Youth beat West of St Julian’s 7-2 at Duffryn School. Coed Eva Athletic lost 3-2 at home to Marsh-field.

Craig-Y-Rhacca won 4-2 against Llanyrafon with goals from Andrew John, Matthew Phillips, Matthew Edwards and Oliver Yeats.

Two goals from Nathan Ceretti and John Lloyd gave Pontnewydd United a 2-1 win at home to Spencer Boys Club.

Oakfield Inn won 3-1 at home to Newport Corinth-ians, with Joseph Herbert, Nicholas Pattimore and Stuart Jones scoring.

Cwmbran Celtic won 4-0 at home to Cwmcarn Athletic.

Michael Phillips, Rhys Dalgleish, Peter Arnott and Jordan Meaney got the goals.

Four games in the Grey-hound Junior Cup saw FC Rileys win 5-4 against Riverside Rovers, with Stephen Gillespie (2) and club secretary Neil Sims (3) scoring.

Five goals from Ryan Hol-combe (3), Andrew Wright and Josh Codd gave Spencer Boys Club a 5-2 win against Villa Dino Christchurch.

In a ten goal thriller, Bettws Socialdad came out 6-4 winners over Caerleon Town.

K2 AFC, playing their first match of the season, won 6-1 away to Ponthir.

Three league games also took place. In the Premier Y, two goals from Omar Watson and Robert Phillips, gave Llis-werry a 2-0 win against Trethomas Bluebirds.

In division one, Lliswerry lost by the same score. Two goals from Ieuan Evans and Scot Hood gave Albion Rovers a 2-0 win.

In division two spectators needed a crib board to record Infusion Sports Bar’s win over Albion Rovers.

The Sports Bar won 15-3 with their goals coming from Neil Leeson (3), Alex Sim, Mike Vaux (4), Leroy Brown (3), Chris Greet and Jamie Hughes (2) In the Monmouthshire Building Society Sunday Cup, it was shocks all round in the three ties played.

Unbeaten Docks Cons went down 4-3 to RMS Llanwern United. Lysaghts FC beat cup favourites Pavillions.

Duffryn Wanderers got the better of Rogerstone United by five goals to three.
