Forwards shine as County earn third win on the spin
6:21pm Saturday 23rd February 2013 in Latest Football
NEWPORT COUNTY 2 AFC TELFORD UNITED 1
SECOND half goals from Christian Jolley and Danny Crow gave Newport all three points against their disciplined visitors who remain bottom of the Conference National.
The Exiles powered up to third, level on points with Kidderminster with games in hand after Jolley's header just after the break and a strike from an almost impossible angle by Crow made Telford's late strike nothing more than a consolation.
County also blooded new signing Rhys Griffiths from the bench ahead of four successive away games over the next two weeks as they look to maintain their push for promotion.

his contribution over the 4 games of the revivial has been immense.
lenny just no more coaching sessions from alan (only joking alan dont take offence and report me to the argus :-))
in the bad run if we had played teams like telford we would have lost.so the fact we have won the strikers have scored and we have all 3 points says it all
so pleased for danny crowe, he was Doing everything right as a team player but not scoring , to get the winner yesterday will do his confidence a huge boost.
well done to JOLLEY to , slowly getting back to his best . you cannot keep a quality player down and as i said a few weeks back an IMPACT player, expect the unexpected.
nice to see charlie henry playing against us again , but it proves the old moto that sometimes the grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. maybe he should have persevered at county.
gateshead hopefully on tuesday and a chance to go top . but watch out county GATESHEAD WON 4-0 yesterday.
the pack that are going to chase the title and play off places i think have broken away from the pack.
i expect to see MANSFIELD, KIDDERMINSTER , COUNTY AND WREXHAM IN THE TOP FOUR POSITIONS COME THE LAST FIVE GAMES
WELL DONE FOR YESTERDAY LADS !

A County win at Gateshead is essential on Tuesday as the top 6 teams all have winnable matches on Tuesday. Depending on results County could be 1st or 6th by Wednesday !
