Justin Edinburgh proud of his Exiles aces
NEWPORT County AFC manager Justin Edinburgh praised his players for a creditable draw at Plymouth Argyle last night, insisting it showed how far the club had come in the last few seasons.
The Exiles had the chances to win the tight game at Home Park but the 0-0 draw lifted them to ninth in the League Two table, just a point outside the play-off places.
"Coming to a place like Plymouth, a team who not long ago were in the Championship, is a big occasion for this football club, myself and the players and we can hold our heads up high," said Edinburgh.
"I think we’re again delighted with a point on the road. It was a solid performance rather than spectacular but we’ve gone to a big club, one we look up to, and I thought we were certainly worthy of the point.
"But we didn’t do enough to win to win the game," he added. "We huffed and puffed and just that final ball (let us down).
"Chris Zebroski had an airshot at one and we got in good positions but just didn’t make the right decision with the final ball."
