County go to Braintree in the FA Cup
NEWPORT County AFC have been drawn away to former Conference rivals Braintree Town in the first round of the FA Cup.
County's last visit to Cressing Road saw them win 2-1 in August 2012 thanks to goals from Max Porter and Ismail Yakubu. The Essex side are currently fourth in the Skrill Premier.
The tie will be played on Saturday, November 9, or Sunday, November 10.
Exiles boss Justin Edinburgh said: "Ideally you want a home draw in any cup competition and it is a tough tie as Braintree are playing with confidence.
"I am happy with the draw as I know the players will give everything as they have done all season and everybody understands the importance of the FA Cup.
"We will take a good following as we always do, and we want to be in the draw for the next round."
