NEWPORT County AFC have suffered another injury blow with the news that Byron Anthony will not play again this season.

The central defender recovered from a broken leg suffered at Brighton in the Capital One Cup in August to return to first team action in February.

But he has missed the Exiles' last five games due to problems with the same leg and now needs a minor operation to ease the pain.

Anthony joins fellow centre-back Ismail Yakubu on the sidelines meaning manager Justin Edinburgh will have to rely on Harry Worley and Tom Naylor to cover for first choice pair Darcy Blake and Kevin Feely.

Goalkeeper Lenny Pidgeley should be fit to take his place in the squad to face Wycombe Wanderers at Rodney Parade tomorrow (kick-off 3.07pm) having recovered from ankle ligament damage he sustained at Southend United on January 31.
